1 The tinkling refrain of the 'Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy' signals 'The Nutcracker' season, when San Diego's professional ballet dancers and talented students present the timeless story of Clara, a little girl who dreams of a nutcracker prince, a sugar plum fairy and a battle between mice and toy soldiers. 2 New West Ballet's 41st production includes a cast of more than 50 performers, with a combination of professionals and pre-professional dancers. 7 p.m. Nov. 25, 2 and 7 p.m. Nov. 26 and 2 p.
