POWAY — The county Sheriff's Department is looking for witnesses to a fatal crash that left a woman dead in Poway on Saturday. The crash happened on Edgemoor Street at Midland Road about 9 a.m. A 35-year-old driver in a Ford Ranger told deputies that he stopped at the intersection and was turning left when he struck the woman, officials said. He said he didn't see her before the crash. The victim was walking her dog in a crosswalk when she was struck, according to the department. She was taken to a hospital where she died.
