Donut Mile male finishers Diwakar Thapa (third place), JJ Goodrich (first place) and Greg Bergeron (second place) holding their medals and prize, a doughnut-shaped mug. About 500 runners came out to Rancho Bernardo Community Park on Sept. 9 for the second annual Donut Dash. The event that featured 10K, 5K, Donut Mile and a Kids Run races was a fundraiser for the Rancho Bernardo Community Council. 'This is awesome,' said council President Robin Kaufman. 'We did not anticipate this many people, with more than 500 registered.
