Only the top seven placers at the California State Championships receive medals. To receive a medal, besides piling up team points, is a big personal moment for any wrestler. Not Paul Kelly. The 5-foot-8 junior, who wrestled this season at 138 pounds, was unmoved by his seventh-place finish at last year's state tournament in Bakersfield. He kept the medal, but the first thing he did with it when he got home from the tournament was to put it in his car. 'I wanted to see it every day,'' Kelly said.
