CITY COUNCILS CARLSBAD The Carlsbad City Council met Tuesday for a hearing and approved updated user fees with the San Diego Humane Society. The council gave conditional approval for the construction of a roundabout at Carlsbad Boulevard and Tamarack Avenue. A request from Council Member Melanie Burkholder to adopt a resolution supporting actions to strengthen local democracy, authority and control in relation to local zoning and housing issues was approved with amendments. ESCONDIDO The Escondido City Council met Wednesday to review and approve the East Valley Specific Plan and rezoning of the East Valley Specific Plan area to promote higher-density development.
