Sherry Sheldon Gibson was born to ride horses. When she was 5 , her parents, dad Russ Sheldon and mom Charlie, bought her a $25 pony that performed tricks. They also bought a farm and all the accessories to go with it — trucks, trailers and horse equipment. Soon after, Sheldon Gibson was a competitive horseback rider at the Michigan State Fair. 'I've been riding since I was a little kid,' she said. 'All I've ever known is to basically ride.' In Michigan, she joined the 4-H Club and her father rode horses in the Sheriff's posse, which did community service projects for the Sheriff's Department such as handling crowd control at events.
